Proudly South African, calls on all citizens who are passionate about local goods and services, aspiring entrepreneurs, and buyers to join us at the annual Buy Local Summit and Expo.
The summit and expo brings together over 200 exhibitors who manufacture locally. Visit each exhibitor stand and hear the real-life stories of how buying locally truly impacts society and changes people’s lives. There will be something for everyone, on day one we have a keynote address from the Department of Trade, Industry and Competition Minister, Ebrahim Patel, to an explosive panel discussion on the Amapiano movement. Then day two starts with a keynoteaddress from the Department Small Business Development Minister, Stella Ndabeni-Abrahams.This will be followed by a panel discussion about Localisation in action: driving industrialization through ESD programmes. The two-day summit and expo will then wrap up with “Happy Hour”, a consumer-focused activation that will see our local gin manufacturers creating mouth-savouring drinks with locally manufactured gin.
Taking place on Monday and Tuesday, the 25th & 26th of March 2024, the summit and expo will feature 200 local vendors from textiles, manufacturing, automotive, construction, healthcare, agriculture, and several other sectors.
Proudly South African believes in helping SMMEs gain the necessary information and access to market opportunities they deserve. The organization also creates programmes that equip SMMEs with financial as well as non-financial business development programs, that will help them grow and develop their businesses as well as the communities they serve. This is why the Business Solutions Hub is available at the summit and expo through strategic partners where organizations such as the South African Revenue Services, Tax Ombud, SABS, Max Prof, CIPC, Harambee Youth Employment, ZA Domain Name Authority (ZADNA), the Small Enterprise Finance Agency, Tshaya Mashabela attorneys and the National Treasury will be there to give SMMEs the help their business needs. By connecting like-minded individuals andcreating a community of local manufacturers and service providers, we can create more jobs and strengthen our economy.
