Joburg, we are warming up this winter at the Fire & Feast Meat Festival presented by Crown National, which gets fired up from 8 to 10 June.

This year’s festival hosts a line-up of culturally diverse chefs each chosen for their talent and expertise in taste and technique. This quintessential proudly South African weekend-long love affair of meat, fire, braais, and music promises to a meaty event for all discerning diners, foodies, braai-masters, butchers and industry experts.

At Fire & Feast, there is something for every meat lover. A range of exhibitions and live entertainment daily will complement the ultimate South African meat and braai experience Some Fire & Feast Meat Festival highlights include:

National Butcher’s Challenge 

Take a gander at the art of meat preparation as the country’s best butchers go head-to-head and sample some of the country’s most flavoursome, fall-off-the-bone tender and fully marinated meats at the renowned BRM Bistro.

Jack Daniel’s Whiskey Bar & Restaurant

An original experience where every dish served will be inspired by the smooth-tasting Tennessee Whiskey. This experience is further enhanced by the Jack Daniel’s Man Cave where the modern man can get inked, take some time out in the barber’s chair, find the latest petrol-head accessories or saunter over to view a unique collection of classic motorbikes and cars.

Meat Theatres

Visit our dedicated meat theatres for all you need to know about each specialty meat; The Sparta Beef Theatre, County Fair Poultry Theatre, The SAPPO Pork Tasting Room and The Lamb & Mutton SA Theatre. Sample the best quality meat, prepared in the best way, while the experts discuss the best cuts and preparations for every occasion.
